If I blog, I blog.

So this blog is focused on fashion.
But the fact that I am a huge comic fan, has a big impact on the way I dress myself.

In this post, I want to talk about one of the most unfair moments in the comic world.

In the special issue "DC versus Marvel Comics", the wall between the two universes is cracking and the heroes of the one have to fight the heroes of the other.

The one and only Wonder Woman is chosen to fight with Storm from X-Men.
She decides that she wants a fair fight, so she ditches the hammer of Thor, because Storm is obviously too weak to respond to that!
(She can't even make a career as an individual, for Jill Thompson's sake. )
But, the cold-hearted woman (my manners don't allow me to use the word "bitch"), used her mutant powers, instead of giving a clean fight.

So, my point is that Wonder Woman COULD have beaten Storm.
She just didn't want to.
And now, with that cleared, I will think a solution for the global financial crisis.

Textile and Fabrics (2)

In this week's class, our teacher was trying to explain how a knitting machine works.
It's the third time I am taking this class - yeah, retarded-, so I wasn't paying much attention, instead I was thinking about this bar I am supposed to go at Saturday... anyway, I am rambling.
But then, something pink captured my sight.
Oh dear, it's Barbie's knitting machine!!
Someone really put effort in designing and manufacturing this thing?
Well, someone did and this "toy" created a perfect stockinette.

And did I mention that the whole thing is pink?

I am so attending next class.

Me at my 70th birthday.

Sometime in the summer, I was waiting with a bunch journalists for this guy to come and make a comment about this thing.
And as all we Greeks do, we sat and had a coffee.

And then this woman showed up.

I just couldn't stop staring her!

How old do you think she is?

65? 70?

And yet she is so cute!

(At this point, I have to clear that I'm raving about the analogy style-age, not about the actual outfit.)

So, now I do have an answer, when people ask me how I see myself when I grow up.

(p.s. I got a new job)

I am new to this...

.. so I am still trying to get into the whole blogging - philosophy.
I can't figure out if I am talking to someone, if I am talking to myself, if a comment means that there is intelligent life out there?

Since is my 5th (I think) post as a blogger (sounds so good! why I've waited so long?) I am still a little confused about all the above.

I just want to make it clear that this blog is about fashion and maybe all those little things that happen to me everyday, proving me that art do imitates life.

Textile and Fabrics

Once again, this is me on my way for my class (Textile and Fabrics)

(Vintage Alain Mikli Eyeglasses, Laser cut acrylic earrings from LA designer Steven Shein (AKA Lee Riot), Junk Food Wonder-Woman T-shirt, Asos Exploits Vest, Sass & Bide Black Rats Low Rise Leggings, Converse Chucks, Marc by Marc Jacobs Watch, Vintage Rings, Gold Turntable Messenger Bag)

And of course my charms, including my *heart* from Vivienne Westwood.
I should do a post, just for them. Hmm..

My Dissertasion.

As I mentioned before, (and judging by the comments, all of you read it!) this is my last year as a college student.
And in order to get my degree, I had to do a six-months practice, which I did at a tv station, as journalist and anchorwoman, pass all of my classes (which I prefer not to comment) and finally write a dissertation.
So I wanted to write about fashion journalism.
And then it hit me!
Blogs are the new fashion journalism. Or its new form of expression.
Of course, back then I didn't have a blog, I thought it was the most difficult thing in the world.
So, some very kind bloggers accepted my request for interview.
These very cool bloggers are; Saneeta Harris, Michele Obi, Bagchick, Andy Knight, Corinna Holmes, The Budget Fashionista and finally the wonderfull Crosby Noricks, who sent me her own thesis, on Fashion PR.
Anyway, my work has finally come to an end. I just have to write a prologue and then present it and stuff, but this brings me one step closer to London!

So, I am using this post in my own personal blog *clap, clap*, to thank them.

Thank you.

Introducing myself:

Well, my name is Kalouda.
Most people start from their name because it's the common thing to do.
I start from my name, because it has literally marked my life. Even in my language (Greek) it sounds weird.
So, this decision my parents made, caused me some unhappy moments in my childhood.
And the fact that I used to dress in my own way, just made things worst.
I still dress myself funny.
I am a huge Comic / Sex Pistols fan and I really like to show it.
When I feel at my best - you know the feeling; all dressed up, with the whole world looking at you-, I like to call it my "Wonder Woman - self" (what a nerd, I know).
Anyway, in a very few words, I am a fashion designer student, but my dream is to do my MA in Fashion Journalism, in London College of Fashion, hopefully starting October 2009.
And of course, living in London, until I am too old to use my magic cape.
